Saturday 16th March saw the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter Race course, and as if the Tav could keep away. A Big thanks goes out to Rob Walmsley who yet again organised an excellent day out. At 11.02am (according to the highly detailed timetable) we all left the Tav in high hopes of a big win. For most this came on the first race with quite a few walking away with between £60 and £100. The rest of the afternoon was spent flitting from the posh bar (that Rob had got us passes to), out to the track to place those bets. Carls sister and Helen won the sweep for the National with a horse called "Bunny Boiler". After an afternoon in the posh stand we all headed back to the Tav where Rob had laid on a big buffet and we carried on drinking the night (and our winnings) away.

Rob is organising another Race Day in July 13th. For more information ask behind the bar
