In the whole time I've been drinking in the Tav/Meg I've never known anyone to dress up for anything, so you can imagine I had the shock of my life on Saturday night when over half of the pub made the effort and came in Fancy dress. The disco was provided by John and Bridder who once again put on an excellent show. Costumes ranged from damn right scary to immensly funny. Some that stood out were Wal's amazing Homer Simpson, Lloyds quite frighteningly life like Ozzie Osbourne, and Danni, Naomi, and Chloe who were scary enough to give even the hardest men nightmares for weeks. The starwars theme carried over from the Sarah's 21st at the start of the year, with Ecke, Jacko, Gav and Vicky coming as Vader, a storm trooper, a jedi and princess Leia.

As everyone had made such an effort, John held a spontaneous Fancy Dress contest, with the grand prize being one of Micks Big Sperm.. (Not Micks real sperm but one of the bizarre sperm drinks from behind the bar). Each contestant went up one by one and had to give a valid reason why they thought they should win the contest. Below are a selection of the responses I can remember....   Ben (dressed as a Skeleton) - Because I've got a big bone Ecke (dressed as Darth Vadar) - Because I've got a big lightsaber Lloyd (dressed as Ozzie Osbourne) - Because I'm the prince of facking darkness ain't I Chloe (dressed as a scary Fairy and mocking beauty queens) - Because I love children and want world peace. Zophia (dressed as a witch) - Because I've got big socks on (although John did repeat down the Mic - because she's got big boobs, which easily got her into the second round). Wal (dressed as Homer) - Because I'm an Alcoholic   Zophia, Jacko,Danni and Lloyd were voted through to the final and both were asked why they deserved to win Micks sperm. Their responses were... Lloyd - Because I bit the head of a facking bat once... Jacko - I'm going to drop out cos I don't want to win the sperm. Danni - I came from my dads sperm so I don't really need it. Zophia - Because if I win I'll tongue Chloe (followed by a massive cheer from the pub) In the end it was narrowed down to a tie between Zophia and Danni who both shared the prize.
