Pennine Tavern Vs Britannia Inn Match Report |
| Staffordshire FA Sunday Trophy Quarter Final. Result from last Sunday, our home pitch, halls road, was called off and the game with Britannia Inn Res took place at their ground in Waterhouses. The 1st half saw the Pennine Tavern have chance after chance with poor finishing and good keeping by the Britannia's goalkeeper the scores were level at Half time 0-0. Virtually within a minute of the re-start the Pennine went 1-0 up from Mark R Proctor (We have two Mark Proctors spelt the same way). And we continued to "camp" in Britannia's half, but again chance after chance went begging. Britannia then came back at us and scored a 30 yard drive. Then it was one way traffic towards the Pennine goal. We fought well and kept the Britannia at bay until the 88th Minute. The goal was crossed from the right and was part cleared to Britannia's left back who hit a weak shot towards our goal. Unfortunately, this crept underneath our keeper and bobbled into the net. The result ended Pennine 1 Britannia Inn 2. |
